International Rapid Deployment Team Members
Among the many personal accomplishments of ARTI's International Team members are two members who have reached the summit of Mount Everest and competed in the prestigious Camel Trophy, others hold the record for the deepest cave ascent in Turkey. In 1997 they will reach depths that place them on the list of the ten deepest caves ever ascended on the planet. While other members have attained Olympic Medals.
In the 1990's, one of our Turkish team members, Atila Ulas, who we rate as one of the luckiest men alive, fell from a mountain while returning from a search and rescue mission. As the team ascended the mountain he slipped and fell, surviving a 400 meter, 3 bounce fall with only a broken pelvis! Carried out in a back sling, Atila's rescue took over 11 hours at temperatures of -35 Celsius...update..We are sorry to say that Atila died in 2006 while climbing.....

American Rescue Team International is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization. Organized and duly constituted under the laws of the State of California since 1985. At international disasters we were called the `American Rescue Team' because we were the only Americans saving lives at foreign disasters, the name stuck!
